Unlocking the Potential of AI in Marketing Do you ever wake up in the morning and feel like you're already behind? That's how we've been feeling with all the generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) out there. We're in quite possibly the most exciting times as marketers, but it's a new frontier for all of us. Are we aiming for efficiency and ROI or is AI an opportunity to open up more creatively? Maybe it's somewhere in between.


The world as a whole is undergoing a seismic shift, and marketing in particular will be transformed thanks to the generative artificial intelligence (AI). It's a topic that fascinates us, which is why we decided to create FutureCraft Marketing.  In part from fear or what's next and so we didn't get left behind, and out of curiosity for what the future of marketing will be. 


We're passionate about figuring it out and want to share with you some basic insights we've learned so far, and offer some practical tips that you can leverage AI in your marketing efforts.


Our Personal Journey into AI in Marketing

Erin: I'd say my journey began off with pure curiosity, but necessity quickly took over. In an attempt to drive outcomes faster, I started experimenting with AI-powered content creation and personalization tools. What I discovered was nothing short of transformative: AI was not just a tool but a brainstorming partner that could enhance every aspect of our marketing strategy, from understanding our audience to creating content that resonates.


Ken: AI is changing how we all think about work. Coming from product marketing, I think about how AI can work as a thought partner. I struggle with looking at a blank sheet of paper, AI has really opened up an outlet for feedback and springboard to work from.

Key Areas Where AI Makes a Difference:

  • Faster Ideation: For some of us, there is nothing worse than staring at a blank page. AI is your brainstorming partner. From persona frameworks to nurture content, it's a good starting place to get creativity rolling.

  • Authentic Engagement: Through AI, we learned to personalize our content in a way that felt genuine and relevant to each member of our audience.

  • Efficiency at Scale: AI automation freed our team from repetitive tasks, allowing us to focus on creative and strategic work that truly made a difference.


How to Start Integrating AI into Your Marketing Strategy

Embracing AI can seem overwhelming, but here's how you can start:


Start with a Clear Goal

Identify a specific challenge you want AI to solve. For us, it was improving customer service response times. This focus will guide your tool selection and integration process.


Prioritize Data Health

AI is only as good as the data it works with. Invest time in cleaning and organizing your data – it will pay dividends in the effectiveness of your AI initiatives.


Keep Learning and Experimenting

The field of AI is advancing rapidly. Stay curious, keep experimenting, and don’t be afraid to pivot based on what you learn.
